Kenya 09 | Busia impacted by the Gospel

Kenya 09 | Busia impacted by the GospelThousands of people responded to the Gospel as Shake The Nations Ministries visited central Busia on the Kenya/Uganda border to hold Gospel campaigns for the first time.
Held in the town’s Municipal Stadium, the campaign was advertised extensively throughout the region, and people travelled from both Uganda and Kenya to hear the Gospel. Each night, many responded to the message of the Gospel, and there were incredible miracles.
The campaign didn’t come without its challenges, but despite torrential rains and politicial problems amongst local churches, the power of God touched many lives and thousands were saved and hundreds healed and delivered.

The miracle testimonies included:

*A woman who had been in hospital for six months after an accident came to the campaign on crutches. During the time of prayer, crutches were waved in the air as the power of God touched the woman. She made her way to the platform and declared that Jesus had healed her. She returned the following night without her crutches and told all the cripples in the crowd that Jesus could heal them. One of the crutches came back to the UK with Evangelist Nathan and the team, and the other crutch went to America with some of our ministry team.

*A child with a tumour on its side would walk with a severe limp because of the lump. During the campaign, the lump miraculously disappeared and the child could run and jump on the stage much to the delight of the excited crowd.

*A child with twisted feet couldn’t walk, and was laid on a mat in the campaign. The child’s mother testified how the child began to walk for the first ever time during the campaign. The crowd began to celebrate with the mother at this incredible miracle.

Meanwhile, each night during the campaign, there were many people set free from evil spirits. Witchcraft is rife in this part of Kenya, and many children are cursed after being taken to witchdoctors and mediums. It was a joy to see these children and adults been set free by the power of God each night.

Another highlight was when the Shake The Nations team visited Bulama B, the village about 50km from Busia where the ministry held successful campaigns in 2006 and 2007. After each campaign, churches were started and our team were able to minister to the congregations. Both churches are growing and continuing to witness the power of God. In the church started in 2007, a woman who was brought to the 2007 campaign on her deathbed testified how God had healed her, whilst another woman who suffered from HIV told how God had healed her during the campaign. The church started in 2006 is hoping to start building work on a 500-seater auditorium in 2010.

Plans are already in place for Shake The Nations to return to Busia in 2010.
