Kenya 07 One By One | Poor tribes fed
28 November 2007
A feeding programme held in Kenya in November 2007 touched local people in a powerful way.
Some of the attendees – who earn as little as £1 per month – said they were touched deeply by the generosity of Shake The Nations One By One team members.
Those who were fed included widows, children and those who have no regular work.
Widow Teresina Nakjungu said, ‘My husband is dead and I am raising four children alone. Life is very hard. I have nothing to sell to make money and it can be a really struggle to live. But I have enjoyed food today, God has provided for me.’
Peter Onyende – who earns the equivalent of £1 per month – was equally thrilled with the feeding programme.
He said, ‘At home I’ve no food. This is my first to come together as a village and have a meal together, it’s very pleasing.’
