Sierra Leone 09 | Record crowds hear GospelRecord crowds packed into Coronation Field in the town of Bo, Sierra Leone, in what organisers have labelled an ‘historic’ Christian event.
The Shake The Nations Gospel Crusade drew thousands of people over a five-day period, with many finding salvation in Jesus Christ and being healed. The huge crowds – rising to almost 20,000 for the final night – were record numbers for any event in the town’s history, local pastors said. Each night, the Gospel was preached with power, with large numbers responding to the call of salvation. It is estimated more than 40,000 people packed the altar to confess Christ as their Saviour. Many of them were Muslims.

There were also many miracles of healing, including:

*A six-year-old boy who was blind in his right eye. After prayer, he could see!

*A woman who was deaf and couldn’t speak from birth said she could hear and speak for the first time. She shouted Jesus loudly down the microphone, much to the joy of her brother who had brought her to the campaign.

*A woman had suffered from typhoid and malaria for three months and was unable to walk more than a few steps. After prayer, she was running around the field giving praise to Jesus for the outstanding miracle.

*A one-month old baby had a huge growth on his stomach. It was so big his mother had wrapped him in baggy clothes. During the crusade, the lump disappeared and the mother declared a miracle had taken place.

Host pastor Michael Yambasu, of Flaming Evangelical Ministries, said, ‘The meeting this year was special, and I believe it was a historic time for the town of Bo. I am persuaded that this crusade will bring a revival to the town of Bo. The crowds were so big, we have never seen anything like this in Bo.’
