Orphanage plan underway in Kenya
21 February 2010
Shake The Nations One By One has enjoyed an exciting start to 2010, with plans well underway for the building of the ministry’s first orphanage in Kenya.
After buying 2.5 acres of land in November, One By One’s Kenyan planning team is now deciding which children will be suitable to become residents of the orphanage, which hopefully will open later this year. The orphans will be brought into a loving and warm Christian environment, where they will recieve shelter, food, clothing and an education.
One By One co-ordinator Becky Murray said, ‘Our major projects in 2010 include raising funds to begin building the orphanage in Kenya. We will do this in small stages, building individual rooms. We will also be starting a sponsorship scheme where we will obtain photos and information about each child and people can chose to sponsor a specific child. The sponsor can stay in contact with the child by letters and will receive regular updates on the child’s progress.
‘This is a completely new project for One by One and we thank God for the great and awesome privlege He has given us to look after each of these precious children.Kenya will be the first of many branches all over Africa and India so please join with us in this exciting venture that will radically impact and change the lives of many children.’
